How does StepsApp calculate distance?
StepsApp uses your iPhone's built in motion sensor to automatically calculate your distance. If you have the feeling that the distance is not correct, you might consider setting up your step length manually.
You can find here a video as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNLsgYg3jZ0
You can set up your step length manually by following these steps:
- Open StepsApp
- Go to "Settings"
- Tap on the “Body Measurements” cell
- Find the cell “step length” and adjust your own step length.
How to calculate your step length:
Men: height (cm) * 0,415 = your step length
Women: height (cm) * 0,413 = your step length
Please note: if the steps length is set to automatic, factors like speed while walking can result in different distances.
