Why does the app suddenly stop counting?

If StepsApp suddenly stops counting steps, this is usually because the app is not allowed to run in the background, or because of battery optimization settings. Here is how to get StepsApp back up and running:

Step 1: Enable Background Activity:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to Apps & notifications - App Info
  3. Open StepsApp
  4. Go to Battery
  5. (If available) enable Background Activity

Step 2: Deactivate Battery Optimization for StepsApp:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to “Battery optimization”
  3. Click drop-down menu (top left) + select “All apps”
  4. Find StepsApp + check, that the Battery Optimization is deactivated
